another injury

we had training again on saturday. before practice even officialy started, li wen injured herself when spotting a stunt. her right thumb seems like it has been dislocated cos the second joint (i think it's called an MCP joint, metacarpophalangeal joint) from the tip of the thumb seems to jut out at an angle....then, that fleshy part on the palm that is sort of connected to the whole thumb movement became really swolen o.o;;;

it's nearing the competition already people, so let's be careful n not get ourselves injured k ;)

our training space is not large enough to practice with the full dimensions of the competition mat which is 42ft x 42ft. the space we have is rectangular, the length is more than 42ft but not the with. but it's still more than what we had been practiing with prior to this. so, we tried running through the positions and getting everyone used to the extra space to cover during transitions. seems ok. just need a bit more polishing up.

on a disappointing note, despite the talk given at the previous training, some people still turned up late, causing practice to start and end late again. the captain brought this matter up at the end of the practice on saturday, stating his disappointment at this behaviour... :( let's not let this happen again

FINALLY.....space between heads and ceiling!

we were finally able to practice our two-n-a-half high pyramids yesterday with ample space between the top flyers' heads and the ceiling at a new practice venue courteously provided by one of our members' parents :)

we also had a small talk before practice started regarding the issue of being late and skipping practice.a month left to competition.

we still have a lot to work on.

flyers: we know that you guys are having a lot of pressure being the flyers on top, but we hope you wouldn't beat yourselves up badly over certain skills that you're having a tough time mastering. it would just make you more nervous, panicked and affect your concentration. take it easy n slowly work on it during practices ok :) don't get your head filled with frustration. calm yourselves down and focus on figuring out what's wrong, then work on that part :)

we will be competing in this competition n this will be the first time the Rebels cheerleading team will be competing as a full team with a full routine.....*heart rate increases involuntarily* the thing is really not too far away so we really need to buck up.

the fact that practices still aren't starting on time due time certain parties who do not turn up on time does not help.
the fact that some parties also take the liberty of not turning up for practices at all [some without prior notice too!!] ..... definitely not helping

we still have a lot to work on, you know :s

p.s. this entry will be updated again sometime in the future cos it seems that some details regarding the competition have yet to be finalized :s so yar..
